Yuanxi Su (aka Susu) is a Chinese multidisciplinary filmmaker, editor, curator, creative producer, and artist based in Paris, France since 2021.
As a film curator and journalist with Berlin Indie Chinese Cinema Week, a Berlin-based non-profit collective, Yuanxi sheds light on critical socio-political issues in Chinese cinema, particularly those exploring gender, migration, and urbanization. Her programming extends to festivals like Seven Veils in Paris, where she delves into themes of feminine identity and subjectivity among women from diverse cultural backgrounds, creating resonant cultural experiences that amplify underrepresented voices and perspectives.
In her freelance career in production and post-production, Yuanxi has collaborated with renowned international brands such as Dior, Martell, Renault, and Doctolib, expertly managing budgets, coordinating teams, and overseeing casting. Her extensive experience in both cinematic and high-end commercial production reflects her commitment to delivering projects with both artistic precision and logistical excellence.
Yuanxi’s creative vision reaches beyond filmmaking into the visual arts, where she explores collage, photography, and painting, infusing her work with a multimedia richness that is both experimental and introspective.
